Program Objectives:

  • To offer the young aspiring film professionals an interdisciplinary and dynamic milieu, where they can develop comprehensive and critical awareness of all aspects of film making.
  • To develop strong and independent “Film Professionals
  • To provide the fundamental aesthetic values of the art of cinema
  • To provide platform for the showcase of their art.

Salient Features:

  • Script to screen participation in at list one full length Feature Film to every student
  •  As a part of Global Immersion Program by MGM University every student will participate/visit at list one world class Film Festival, Film Studio out of India.
  •  Outcome based Curriculum planned according to 30% Theory and 70% Practical approach
  •  ‘State-Of-The-Art’ studios, equipments, locations, shooting floors will be provided for all practicals and film projects to every student
  •  Master Classes by stalwarts for film industry

Eligibility and Entrance Test

  • Students with good experience from the field of Theatre, Music, Fine Arts, etc. may get priority in the limited seats criteria.
  • Students with a non-traditional background will be considered on the strength of their knowledge about the subject and their performance in ENTRANCE TEST WORKSHOP where student can demonstrate transferable skills in other relevant areas.
  • Those who have experience in the field can present their work in audio-visual format at the time of the final interview.
  • Fluency in English is must for the applicant, as so many mentors and tutors will be from non-Hindi and non-Marathi background.

Film Direction

Film Direction elective modules are designed by industry professionals which focuses on Conceptual, Theoretical, Professional and most importantly Creative development of a student. We have identified set of skills required to become a director, based on it students will be doing outcome based practical assignments. By assessing them Mentors and Faculties will be able to observe the overall development of the student and mentor them accordingly. These modules not only focus on all aspects of film direction but also cover all the elements of film making like editing, cinematography, acting, sound, screen writing, vfx, production design, etc. The program progresses naturally from a basic introduction to aesthetic and technical aspects of Film Direction to wider, more complex problems posed by film production.

 

 

Opportunities

After successful completion of this course students can start working as Assistant Director and Director for Feature Films, Television Serials, Web Series, Television Commercials, etc.

  Elective subject – 2

Sound Design

The Media today in India is demanding technically sound and stable creative Audio Engineers capable enough to handle enormous power of today’s technical development in Audio Engineering. May it be in the field of E-learning, Radio/TV broadcasting, Pod casting, Gaming, Mobile learning, Animation, Cinema, or simply on the internet, Sound plays a key role and gives rise to various fields of work. Our sound design modules cover Recording Chains, Physics of Sound, Studio Acoustics, Introduction to Studio Equipment, Studio Monitoring Systems, Audio in Digital Domain, Digital Recording Formats, Studio Environment, Session Procedures, Apple, Avid and Steinberg.

 Opportunities

After successful completion of this course students can start working as Assistant Sound designer for Feature Films, Television Serials, Web Series, Television Commercials, etc.

Elective subject – 3

Acting for Films

Screen Acting elective modules are designed by industry professionals which focusses on Conceptual, Theoretical, Professional and most importantly Creative development of a student. We have identified set of skills required to become a actor, based on it students will be doing outcome based practical assignments. By assessing them Mentors and Faculties will be able to observe the overall development of the student and mentor them accordingly. These modules not only focus on all aspects of acting but also cover all the elements of film making like editing, cinematography, direction, sound, screen writing, vfx, production design, etc. The program progresses naturally from a basic introduction to aesthetic and technical aspects of screen acting to wider, more complex problems posed while creating characters on the silver screen.

Opportunities

After successful completion of this program student will have access Auditions and recognized Casting Agents. Students will be able to peruse their career in Feature Films, Television Serials, Web Series, Television Commercials, etc.

Elective subject – 4

Film Editing

Film Editing elective modules are designed by industry professionals which focusses on Conceptual, Theoretical, Professional and most importantly Creative development of a student. We have identified set of skills required to become a Film Editor, based on it students will be doing outcome based practical assignments. By assessing them Mentors and Faculties will be able to observe the overall development of the student and mentor them accordingly. These modules not only focus on all aspects of film editing but also cover all the elements of film making like direction, cinematography, acting, sound, screen writing, vfx, production design, etc. The program progresses naturally from a basic introduction to aesthetic and technical aspects of Film Direction to wider, more complex problems posed by film production.

After successful completion of this course students can start working as Assistant Editor and Editor for Feature Films, Television Serials, Web Series, Television Commercials, etc.

 Elective subject – 5

Cinematography

Cinematography elective modules are designed by industry professionals which focusses on Conceptual, Theoretical, Professional and most importantly Creative development of a student. We have identified set of skills required to become a Cinematographer, based on it students will be doing outcome based practical assignments. By assessing them Mentors and Faculties will be able to observe the overall development of the student and mentor them accordingly. These modules not only focus on all aspects of Cinematography but also cover all the elements of film making like direction, editing, acting, sound, screen writing, vfx, production design, etc. The program progresses naturally from a basic introduction to aesthetic and technical aspects of cinematography to wider, more complex problems posed while doing color correction of the film.

After successful completion of this course students can start working as Assistant Cinematographer, Gaffer, Operative Cameraman, Cinematographer for Feature Films, Television Serials, Web Series, Television Commercials, etc.

Elective subject – 6

Production Design & Art Direction

Production Design and Art Direction elective modules are designed by industry professionals which focusses on Conceptual, Theoretical, Professional and most importantly Creative development of a student. We have identified set of skills required to become a Production Designer/Art Director, based on it students will be doing outcome based practical assignments. By assessing them Mentors and Faculties will be able to observe the overall development of the student and mentor them accordingly. These modules not only focus on all aspects of Production Design and Art Direction but also cover all the elements of film making like direction, cinematography, acting, sound, screen writing, vfx, film editing, etc. The program progresses naturally from a basic introduction to aesthetic and technical aspects of Film Direction to wider, more complex problems posed by film production.

After successful completion of this course students can start working as Production Designer, Art Director for Feature Films, Television Serials, Web Series, Television Commercials, etc.

 Elective subject – 7

VFX & Animation

VFX & Animationelective modules are designed by industry professionals which focusses on Conceptual, Theoretical, Professional and most importantly Creative development of a student. We have identified set of skills required to become a Vfx Supervisor/Artist or Animator, based on it students will be doing outcome based practical assignments. By assessing them Mentors and Faculties will be able to observe the overall development of the student and mentor them accordingly. These modules not only focus on all aspects of VFX & Animation but also cover all the elements of film making like direction, cinematography, acting, sound, screen writing, production design, film editing, etc. The program progresses naturally from a basic introduction to aesthetic and technical aspects of VFX & Animation to wider, more complex problems posed by film production.
